On Sunday 22 November, HITO, Kitomba and the NZARH celebrated success in training and business for the hairdressing and barbering industries.

The evening began with drinks and canapés in the foyer of the iconic Te Papa museum, and was followed by a sumptuous three course meal and the announcement of the award winners.

The awards also featured two incredible hair fashion shows, one of which featured work by designer Sophie Voon. The hair was created by Cathy Davys of the Wellington Association of Registered Hairdressers (winner of the HITO Trainer of the Year 2015), and several apprentice volunteers.
“Every year we come together to celebrate success in hair and beauty,” Erica Cumming, HITO CEO, said. “It’s fantastic to see such commitment to excellence in our industries. The standard of entries only gets higher every year”.
