Competition
Advocate for better standards in the hairdressing and barbering industries
$109 per year
- Eligible to enter Hair & Barber New Zealand competitions. This category is for individuals and not for businesses. Competition members compete under their own name and not the name of the salon or barber shop. If you are wanting to compete under a business name you are required to have an 'employer' member.
- Competitions membership must be current on the day of the competition being competed in,
Employee
YOU would like to be a H&BNZ member but your employer isn't a member? This is the category for you!
$17 per month
- e-newsletter
- Eligible to enter competitions (showcase your talent - clients love it!). Entry is under your own name and not the name of the business you work for.
- Preferential rates to all H&BNZ workshops and seminars
- Listing on qualified stylist/barber register (make it easy for the consumer to find a qualified professional)
- Qualified professional mirror sticker (be proud of your qualification)
- Full voting rights (have your say on who you would like to represent you on the H&BNZ Executive Board)
Independent
Designed for SINGLE operators (i.e. contractors, rent a chair) who are hairdressers, barbers, retired stylists and people with an interest in the industry (must be qualified) (Not available if you have employees/contractors/rent a chair working for you in your business)
$30 per month
- Quality + Care Accreditation Programme (let consumers know that you are qualified & run a professional salon/barbershop)
- Access to industry specific insurance policy (great savings on premiums)
- Complimentary business resources including a Health & Safety Guide (saving of $299.00)
- Listing on qualified stylist/barber register (make it easy for the consumer to find a qualified professional)
- Qualified professional mirror sticker (be proud of your qualification)
- Eligible to enter competitions (show your talent to the industry & clients love it!)
- Promote your business on our online Member Directory

Designed for salon/barbershop owners who have employees/rent a chair/contractors

- Quality + Care Programme Accredition Programme (let consumers know that you are qualified & run a professional salon/barbershop)
- Free 30 minute consultation (per year) with H&BNZ’s preferred Employment Lawyer
- Access to industry specific insurance policy (great savings on premiums)
- Complimentary business resources including a Health & Safety Guide (saving $299.00)
- Free employment contract templates (valued at $149.00)
- Complimentary online Best Practice Guide (member only resource)
- Qualified Professional mirror sticker for all qualified staff (be proud of your qualification)
- Listing on qualified stylist/barber register for you and your qualified team (make it easy for the consumer to find a qualified professional)

Designed for if you are a salon/barbershop owner, have employees/rent a chair/contractors and/or train apprentices and/or own up to three salons or barbershops in NZ

- As for employer subscription but for up to 3 salons or barbershops
